Marianna joined Funt & Company Litigation Counsel as one of the firm’s partners in 2012. She divides her practice between British Columbia and Saskatchewan. She is called to the bar in British Columbia (2008) and in Saskatchewan (2013). Marianna’s main focus is on court room work. She practices in all areas of criminal defence, both at trial and on appeal. Marianna also advises clients on all aspects of immigration matters, including study and work permit applications, and acts for clients in select civil litigation matters.
Marianna obtained a Master’s degree in linguistics in her native Hungary and worked there in business and education before she settled in Vancouver in 2001. In addition to being fluent in Hungarian, Marianna also speaks Hindi.
Marianna attended the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia and articled at a major full service law firm in Vancouver. After being called to the British Columbia bar in 2008, she continued to practice with the same firm mainly in the areas of regulatory litigation and aboriginal law.
